Itinerary - NILE CRUISE, CAIRO & HURGHADA
7 NIGHTS NILE CRUISE (AI) + 3 NIGHTS CAIRO (BB) + 4 NIGHTS HURGHADA (AI).
Day 1
Fly Birmingham / Luxor.
Transfer from Luxor airport to your cruise vessel, dinner on board.
Wednesday arrival clients visit the East Bank with a visit to Luxor Temple, originally joined to Karnak by an avenue of sphinxes. Then to Karnak Temple complex which covers a huge area and includes several temples, the largest being the Temple of Amun. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 2
Visit to the West Bank to the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Afternoon option excursion to a local village for Camel rides priced at £10.00. Overnight in Luxor
Day 3
Visit the East Bank which includes Luxor Temple, originally joined to Karnak by an avenue of sphinxes and Karnak which covers a huge area and includes several temples, the largest being the Temple of Amun. Wednesday arrivals in the afternoon then set sail to Esna and overnight.
Day 4
Morning departure to Edfu where you will visit the Temple of Horus, the mythical son of Isis and Osiris. Here, according to myth, Horus avenged the murder of his father Osiris by defeating his father’s brother Seth in combat. Then sail on to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris and then onwards to Aswan for the night.
Day 5
Visit the High Dam – finished in 1971; it has ensured up to three harvests a year. The Unfinished Obelisk – still rooted to the bedrock of pink granite and the Temple of Isis on Philae Island. In the afternoon enjoy a trip in a traditional felluca around Elephantine Island which will lead you to the Botanical Gardens on General Kitchener island given as a gift in 1890. Here, visitors enjoy the beautiful flowers imported from Africa, India and the Far East. Evening Show with the Nubian dance troop. Overnight in Aswan.
Day 6
Optional excursion to the ancient wonder of Abu Simbel priced at £120.00 pp by air, or £70.00 pp by road. Morning free to explore Aswan city and markets. Sail lunch time to Esna and overnight. Party night on board ship.
Day 7
Visit the partly excavated Temple of Khnum at Esna. Dedicated to the ram- headed god Khnum, who was the patron god of the cataracts, who is said to have fashioned mankind from Nile clay on his potter’s wheel. Navigate the lock at Esna then Sail back to Luxor.
Day 8
Clients check out by 11:30 hours. Optional excursion Balloon flight at sunrise priced at £70.00.
Fly Luxor / Cairo.
Transfer to the Hotel Le Meridien Pyramids for a 3 night stay on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
Day 11
Fly Cairo / Hurghada.
Transfer to the Albatros AquaBlu Resort for a 4 night stay on an All Inclusive basis.
Day 15
Transfer to Luxor by road.
Fly Luxor / Birmingham. |
