Itinerary - CAIRO & DAHABIYA NILE CRUISE

TAILOR MADE LUXURY TWIN CENTRE HOLIDAY

3 NIGHTS CAIRO (BB) + 7 NIGHTS DAHABIYA NILE CRUISE (FB).

DAY 1 - Wednesday

Fly London Heathrow / Cairo.

Transfer to the Mena House Oberoi for a 3 night stay on a Bed & Breakfast basis.

DAY 4 - Saturday

Fly Cairo / Aswan.

Transfer to the Sonesta Dahabiya Nile Cruise.

Overnight onboard in Aswan.

DAY 5 - Sunday

Visit the Aswan High Dam (completed in 1971), the Old Dam (completed in 1902) and Philae Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Isis. Overnight on board in Aswan.

DAY 6 - Monday

Morning sail to Kom Ombo to see the Ptolemaic temple and the falcon-headed Horus, god of the morning sun. Overnight on board, moored beside a Nile Island.

DAY 7 - Tuesday.

This morning, sail to Edfu to visit the wonderfully preserved Temple of Edfu. Overnight on board moored beside an island.

DAY 8 - Wednesday

Day at leisure. After breakfast commence sailing to Esna, and onwards to Luxor. Moored overnight in Luxor.

DAY 9 - Thursday

Excursion to the West Bank to visit the grand burial places of the Pharaohs - the Valley of the Kings - where Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1922. Continue to the Valley of the Queens, Madinat Habu Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. Overnight moored in Luxor.

DAY 10 - Friday

Morning visit to the magnificent temple complex of Amon-Ra at Karnak with it's vast hypostyle hall of 137 columns, followed by the imposing Luxor Temple. Overnight moored in Luxor.

DAY 11 - Saturday

Breakfast aboard the Dahabiya followed by disembarkation.

Fly Luxor / Heathrow via Cairo.

*Please note that on alternative Saturdays the Dahabiya cruise operates in reverse order, from Luxor to Aswan. The itinerary and excursions are the same, but in reverse.
