Itinerary - CAIRO, NILE CRUISE & SHARM EL SHEIKH

CAIRO / NILE CRUISE & SHARM - REGIONAL SPECIALS!

2 NIGHTS CAIRO (BB) + 7 NIGHTS NILE CRUISE (AI) + 5 NIGHTS SHARM EL SHEIKH (BB).

Day 1 – Monday.

Fly Glasgow / Cairo via Sharm El Sheikh.

Transfer to the Hotel Sofitel Le Sphinx for a 2 night stay on a Bed & Breakfast basis.

FREE excursion to the Pyramids & Sphinx. Please let us know on booking when you would like to take this trip.

Day 3 - Wednesday.

Fly Cairo / Luxor.

Transfer to the King Tut III or MS Monica for a 7 night Nile Cruise on an All Inclusive basis.

Set sail to Esna and overnight.

Day 4- Thursday

Morning departure to Edfu where you will visit the Temple of Horus, the mythical son of Isis and Osiris. Here, according to myth, Horus avenged the murder of his father Osiris by defeating his father’s brother Seth in combat. Then sail on to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris and then onwards to Aswan for the night.

Day 5 – Friday

Visit the High Dam – finished in 1971; it has ensured up to three harvests a year. The Unfinished Obelisk – still rooted to the bedrock of pink granite and the Temple of Isis on Philae Island. In the afternoon enjoy a trip in a traditional felluca around Elephantine Island which will lead you to the Botanical Gardens on General Kitchener island given as a gift in 1890. Here, visitors enjoy the beautiful flowers imported from Africa, India and the Far East. Evening Show with the Nubian dance troop. Overnight in Aswan.

Day 6 – Saturday

Optional excursion to the ancient wonder of Abu Simbel priced at £120.00 pp by air, or £70.00 pp by road. Morning free to explore Aswan city and markets. Sail lunch time to Esna and overnight. Party night on board ship.

Day 7 – Sunday

Visit the partly excavated Temple of Khnum at Esna. Dedicated to the ram- headed god Khnum, who was the patron god of the cataracts, who is said to have fashioned mankind from Nile clay on his potter’s wheel. Navigate the lock at Esna then Sail back to Luxor.

Day 8 – Monday

Wednesday arrival clients visit the East Bank with a visit to Luxor Temple, originally joined to Karnak by an avenue of sphinxes. Then to Karnak Temple complex which covers a huge area and includes several temples, the largest being the Temple of Amun. Overnight in Luxor.

Day 9 – Tuesday

Visit to the West Bank to the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Afternoon option excursion to a local village for Camel rides priced at £10.00. Overnight in Luxor

Day 10 – Wednesday.

Disembark after breakfast and transfer to airport.

Fly Luxor / Sharm El Sheikh.

Transfer to the Melia Sinai Hotel for a 5 night stay on a Bed & Breakfast basis. (Half Board and All Inclusive upgrades available).

Day 15 - Monday.

Fly Sharm El Sheikh / Glasgow.
